Minister Weeks Attends Community Personal Safety Seminar and Encourages Public to Register

The Ministry of National Security is reminding the public that there is still time to register for its free Community Personal Safety Seminars, which continue through May at locations across the island.

Last week, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, attended one of the ongoing seminars at Victor Scott Primary School, where he observed the practical guidance and safety advice being shared with participants.

The seminar series, which launched in February, is designed to equip adults with useful personal safety information, including how to recognise potential risks, respond appropriately in difficult situations, and apply simple strategies to stay safer in everyday life.

Minister Weeks said, “Last week's session offered practical, sensible advice that adults in Bermuda can use in their daily lives to be more aware, more prepared and more confident.

“These seminars are a worthwhile community initiative, and I encourage anyone who has not yet attended to take advantage of the opportunity.

“There are still seminars available, and members of the public can choose the date and location that works best for them by registering online.”

Residents are encouraged to visit martialarts.bm/personalsafety to view the remaining seminar dates, times and locations, and to register at their convenience.

The free seminars are being led by Sensei Bob Smith and will continue until May.
